Whether you are reading this the week before Christmas or 2 months before Christmas, there’s always time for some fun and easy Christmas crafts. I don’t know about you, but I love helping my students make a craft that can be given to their parents or loved ones for Christmas. The students love it too! So today I’m sharing some of my favorite EASY-PEASY Christmas crafts.
Easy Ornaments
Easy Cards
If you teach littles, then you know that parents love ANYTHING made with fingerprints and handprints. They make great keepsakes for years to come. These fingerprint cards meet all the requirements: Cute, Fast and Easy!
All you need to do is copy the template onto cardstock, grab some paint and get ready to dab those little fingers! I like using a variety of colors, but I always let me students choose what colors they want and where they want to put them.
Teacher Hint: It is easiest to do all of one color first, wipe the finger clean, then move on to the next finger. A box of baby wipes works great for cleaning fingers in between colors!
I’ve put together a variety of Christmas light finger print templates you can use in your classroom. In this set you get 6 different cards to choose from! Each card is ready to print. Cards include: Merry Christmas (2 options), Merry and Bright, Noel, Joy to the World, Happy Holidays and Love. You can find this resource in my TpT store!
Here’s another finger painting craft you can do. Since I teach at a private school, we complete this finger painting activity as we learn the Nativity story. As with the cards above, all you need to do is copy the template onto card stock, gather your paints, and then get busy dabbing those little fingers.
You can grab this template for free by clicking on the image above!
Easy Wreaths
Last up is this super-duper, easy-peasy Christmas wreath. Start with a cardstock wreath shape. If you have a die cut machine at school or your local craft store, the letter ‘O’ should work just right! You could also use a paper plate (big or small) with the middle cut out. A small wreath would make a great ornament and a larger wreath would be a wonderful wall decoration.
Next up, grab some green yarn and get wrapping! I would suggest taping or hot gluing the starting end of the yarn to the back of the wreath frame just so your students don’t get frustrated with it falling off. Encourage them to wrap and wrap and wrap, trying to cover as much of the wreath base as possible. Once they are done attach the end of the string to the back with a little hot glue or tape. Don’t want to use yarn, check out the glued tissue paper wreath below for another easy-peasy option!
Then allow students to decorate their wreaths. They can use beads, sequins, jewels, pom poms and more. Add a bow and you have a beautiful wreath that any parent will love! Check out the bow made of 2 handprints in the picture below. What a great, personal touch!
I hope that you have found an idea or two that you will be able to use in your classroom. If you have a favorite that would qualify as an Easy-Peasy Christmas Craft I’d love to hear about it. Leave a quick note in the comments to tell me what you do in your classroom!
