We had so much fun hatching chicken eggs in class! We used this 21 day chicken hatching journal and powerpoint to record our observations.
This product includes:
Chicken Observation Journal
– Front Cover
– Observation pages with a portion to draw a picture and a portion to write simple sentences.
– Back Cover has 21 eggs that the students color in. Students color in one egg a day until their chicks have hatched.
Powerpoint: Fully editable! Type your own sentences!
This Power Point is intended to support students as they write their observations. We used the Power Point in a whole group setting by discussing what we observed. Then, I (the teacher) wrote a simple sentence or two based off of what the students said. They copied the sentences in their journals.
Note: You can extend the observations past 21 days by printing additional pages for the journals. We printed journals that had 30ish pages so that the students could document the growth of the chicks as well.
BONUS: I documented the ENTIRE project in class on my YouTube Channel! CLICK HERE to watch the full video and subscribe!
